AIR supports javascript, I haven't tried it, but could you not just use the ga.js directly?

  2. bryanbartow 30 April 2009 at 12:22 am Permalink

Nick, I hadn't considered going the JS route. Although it would not be ideal, it might be worth a look.

    Thank you very much.
I have read about a new release of the iPhone operating system but I hadn't trused myself to upgrate my OS.In fact I feared not succeeding to get it running and then I would have had nothing working. After that hesitation I did thing. The release is simply awesome especially the street view one.
I still have a problem that I could only have the street view option when I'm in an area where that street view is available from google. That is not very helpful for travelling by car.

I tried to mount it in daemon tools before doing my searching… I am still searching so obviously it didn't work……. found a solution already but want to find something free….

It should be straightforward to mount a .toast, opening the files once inside is another matter. This doesn't matter, all i need is to mount the image so i can email the files (NOT run them). I keep finding retarded answers from mac users who havn't done any research or even thought logically about it.

It is possible to mount .toast in vista, the question is can I do it without paying $19.99?

  10. Erik 14 June 2009 at 1:16 pm Permalink

P.S daemon tools says no problem mounting the toast image, but windows cannot read the virtual disc once mounted. Thereby daemon tools is not capable of mounting it…

  11. bryanbartow 15 June 2009 at 8:58 am Permalink

Erik, I've never had this problem. I was able to mount toast images and access their file contents through the free version of Daemon Tools.

Paul, although I'm busy with “other stuff” right now, I'll definitely
check Air Analytics out as soon as I can. Thanks for the tip.

I have some resources on my website that might help you:
    http://inflagrantedelicto.memoryspiral.com/2009...

This is another link that deals specifically with AIR:
    http://www.zedia.net/2009/how-to-connect-to-goo...

    Good luck!

Awesome. So, does gafroflash work with AIR out of the box, or would I have
to do my own http auth, as described in the zedia article? If so, can I use
    gaforflash normally after I've authenticated?

I have included flv into AIR installation which has 500MB and error accrued..but if I do bigger compression for video – 80MB it worked just fine..is there some limit at including files at installation?? I found no solution for my problem at google..

All I know is that my wife walked in to find me kissing the screen with this post on it. AWK-WAARD!

Flex 4 (or at least the people who built it) loves you too, Bryan.
Hey, that's a great tagline: “It's OK, Flex 4 loves you too.”

    Thanks for the feedback.
    Ely Greenfield.
    Adobe, Flex SDK.

  34. bryanbartow 27 January 2010 at 4:55 pm Permalink

Ely, you guys really hit it out of the park with this release. I can't say enough good things about it. It's so good we're using the prerelease builds for all production. It's mind boggling how much more efficiently our team is working now. Next time you're in Austin or I'm wherever you are (San Jose?) I owe you a meal, a drink and whatever else you want.

  35. mcgraphix 27 January 2010 at 5:09 pm Permalink

HAHA… I think Flex 4/Flashbuilder has quite a few suitors so you may have to get in line

  36. bryanbartow 27 January 2010 at 5:11 pm Permalink

But I was the first one to write a love letter. That's got to count for something, right?

  37. Ely Greenfield 27 January 2010 at 5:15 pm Permalink

That's a deal, Bryan. Most of the flex team is in San Francisco, although we have people in Boston, India, and Virginia, among others.

Incidentally, with the amount of experience you're getting with F4, I'd love to hear how it's _not_ working for you as well. Feel free to send me an email directly, if you have any thoughts.

  38. bryanbartow 27 January 2010 at 5:26 pm Permalink

We're out in the valley often. I'll hit you up the next time I know I'll be out.

So far, the bulk of my complaints are known bugs I've seen in Jira, but I will let you know if we come across things we don't like. So far, so good.

  39. Henry Ho 27 January 2010 at 5:58 pm Permalink

You love life is in beta though… hope you make it to final soon.

    d. What is HTML 5 penetration?

IE8 is not supporting it… it is like 70% of internet users who can NOT see HTML 5? :)
IE9 is coming in… 2011? 2012? fully compatible in HTML 5? I am sure Microsoft will be pushing more for SilverLight content than HTML 5…

    Just my 2 cents.

  41. jim 8 February 2010 at 4:14 pm Permalink

dude drop it already… the whole html5 vs flash topic is soooo tiring… html5 isn't going to “kill” flash. It's just gonna complent it, thats all.

  42. bryanbartow 8 February 2010 at 4:55 pm Permalink

Jim, we'll agree to disagree. I think the topic is worth talking about as it affects people like us (I'm assuming you're also a web dev) in a very real way. Unlike most of the tech pundits and bloggers, we have an obligation to our clients to know everything there is to know about these technologies and wether or not they are viable.
